I'm watching Hex, and enjoying it much more than I expected. I like the characters a lot, pretty much all of them, or else I dislike them with the cheerful fervor that means they're written well.British TV seems to inevitably write characters that I love--or at least Hex and Jekyll have, though perhaps two shows aren't enough to state such generalities on.
Also, it will give me an opportunity to write girl-on-ghost!girl best friend porn, which is never to be sneezed at. They're so sweet together.
I put off watching Blood Ties for a long time. I'm not sure why; I really did love the books, so I think I'm probably a bit leery of it on that count. I know--and the author noticed--that they definitely changed Henry's character a
lot. They turned him into what I rather thought of as Kenshin without guilt, someone easy going, courteous, and hella dangerous when roused, into a more Hollywood version of vampire.
But it looks like they've kept Vicki's flat-out badass awesomeness as best they could, and the lure of her is too much to resist. And Henry looks like a tolerable rendition of vampire and reasonably attractive, so I'm ready to plunge in, enjoy the sexiness of a lady in glasses, and write vampire porn at my leisure later. I never liked Michael--his possessive and intrusiveness turned me off of him--so I'm not at all upset at how badly they cast him.
