Fic rec, Bleach

I would like to recommend this fic for ever and ever; I have read it many times over many years and each time I love it more than the last.

Lord I'm Sorry: (Ishida/Orihime, but mostly Orihime's wonderful flavor of crazy) “Today,” Orihime announced during breakfast, beaming over her whipped-cream-bacon-sandwich, “we’re going to discuss how Mommy and Daddy fell in love and made a baby.”

Manga thoughts

BLEACH: Still haven't forgiven you.

D.GRAYMAN: Emilia, I love you. Needs moar Rinali.

Legend of the Seeker, Heroes, Manga and weather

Wait wait wait--people actually still like Nathan Petrelli? The fuck? A more cowardly, backstabbing and viciously selfish character I have rarely if ever seen.

Earlier it was snowing big fat snowflakes that covered the ground. It did so for a couple hours. Then it stopped, melted, and all is now perfectly dry again. Seriously. There's not a sign of dampness to be seen. Seattle weather--and this is not the first time this has happened in the past two weeks--I shake my head in bemusement at you.

Kubo Tite, I am not amused. D.Grayman, Miranda and Rinali are still missing, therefore so is my interest. Immortal Regis, I am badly disappointed in you. Media in general, why you gotta be so skeevy?

Well! On another note, promo pictures tell me that the new Legend of the Seeker episode has Kahlan in bondage and Darken Rahl sleeveless and stroking her. I think I'll actually poke my head into the fandom, because I'm curious about the results of this. After I've watched it, anyway.

[info]who_shot_kr--we never got that in-depth TV post you promised, and I'm really curious about your thoughts on show vs books. Or just show, period.

ETA: Oh whoops, nevermind, just saw it. **headdesk**

ALSO ALSO ALSO: I lied. This is why I watch Legend of the Seeker. Hee!

Bleach 345

Okay, so: finally, Ulquiorra! Drawing the sword! For the first time, I was actually curious, so naturally it had to be drawn out.

He's a monster, obviously, but I actually find him a fairly interesting character. Only as a foil to Orihime, though, but she's so dynamic (ORIHIME~~~) I think almost anyone would be interesting when interacting with her. Also I may or may not have developed an irrational fondness for him when he cut that battle with Ichigo so short. His is the only male face I can still stand after a bajillion 'OMG NEW POWER' shock expressions Kubo Tite is so fond of trotting out. Probably because he can goggle with a totally straight face. It's novel.

As usual, too little Orihime or Rukia. And as always TOO LITTLE TATSUKI.

spoilers for Ulquiorra's looks )

BLEACH 341

ORIHIME~~~

So awesome! Even if it's just, like ONE PANEL.

* twenty-one reasons to say thank you, by Kaigou. Think unions are bad? Think again. If you work an eight hour day, get benefits over 40 years of age, get overtime pay, or any other of a hundred things, you have a union to thank. And don’t think corporations will just keep these rules without unions twisting their arms.

I guess this is another case of my insularity, but I would never imagine not being grateful to or disliking unions. They had their faults, to be sure--in the early days it was advantages for white people (usually men) only any other need not apply and, of course, anything that gains too much power tends to go in unpleasant directions--but from my studies in history, nearly every right workers have today is from unions.

People just like to go 'oh, wonderful/good/flawless' or 'bad/evil/warped' and never even admit that there are gray areas. That irritates me.

On TV and elusive pictures

D.Grayman art that I am totally not familiar with at all keeps popping up, and when asked people give me exceedingly aggravating answers like 'oh, it's everywhere' and 'oh, it's really easy to find.' IF I'M ASKING, CLEARLY I HAVEN'T FOUND IT SO. **throttles air**

All I have to say about Bleach is: I am getting SO TIRED OF SHOUNEN BATTLES and also, Orihime was so cute on the cover! And he didn't even draw her breasts that would break her spine!

Also Merlin continues to be awesome. Gwen! Gwen! I love you!

I've come to suspect that there is an inverse relation between writing and special effects. US shows tend to have superior special effects, but irritate me at the very best with stereotypes, tropes, and downright idiocy. BBC shows--and Blood Ties, which is Canadian--have crap special effects, but awesome characters. (Well, Hex's male characters sucked, but what do you do.) And usually pretty entertaining stories.

This is either a distressing trend or simply indicates that I need to watch BBC. And that is actually to my advantage, I think, because in my experience looking for episodes after the iron is hot, US shows seem to get sniffed out and deleted online faster. And I wouldn't have a TV with channels if my life depended on it, yupthnx.

Also, megavideo keeps crapping out right at the end of the episodes, leaving me on tenterhooks trying not to Hulk Out and hurled the laptop through the window. RAGERAGE.

Also: watched Incredible Hulk movie, v.2, last night. Was it just me or was her voice kind of ridiculously breathy throughout the whole thing? I wonder if she was instructed to do that? I don't care I LOVED HER ANYWAY. Break the soldier's nose without breaking stride! VERBAL BEATDOWN. I wish it was Jennifer Connelly, but that is because though I am polyamorous in my adoration for actresses, there are some that stand on pedestals.

I'm going to try and get Mom to go with me to see The Day the Earth Stood Still. It wasn't a fabulous movie--I already watched it online--but I was entertained okay, I want to see JC on the big screen and she likes Keanu Reeves and totally needs to get out of the house.

Leaving for L.A. in two days.

no and also YESSSSSS

On Bleach: Tite Kubo, I am unimpressed. It just happens to be the girls who need to get rescued, eh? Unimpressed.

On Immortal Regis: Oh Serin, oh baby, you soothe all my angers. So gorgeous! So fierce and tormented! So fucking badass. And finally we get a) an explanation for his being-saved b) KISS SCENES OHHH YESSS and c) REUNION. OMG REUNION OMG OMG **froths**

Even though I know how it turns out from the raws. It's so awesome to finally read translations.

SERIN OMG WHENEVER I NEED TO SALVE BRUISED FEMINIST TENDENCIES, I READ THIS MANGA.

KINKFEST

Pretty much all done.

The problem is that the Gankutsuou discs vanished before I could finish, and I wanted to finish before I wrote that one, but I'll scramble them up at some point and finish that last fic. Other than that, I'm pretty much done. Out of here. Used up. Waiting eagerly for the next round!

Author/Artist: [info]shiegra
Fandom: Bleach
Pairing:Ulquiorra/Orihime
Rating: R
Request: Ulquiorra/Orihime: 35. Espionage

A/N: This is an AU. It is also very different from my original plan, and has a slightly different dynamic than I usually write them, because as an AU the circumstances in which they met were a bit different.
