Well, Mutant Chronicles was a rather beautifully made--filmed, etc--and totally bleak movie, where almost everybody dies. I'm not a fan of these kinds of movies, as those who are familiar with me probably know. Still, I liked Severian, whom Anna Walton played, though she didn't get much screentime. This has, obviously, never stopped my imagination from going wild.

On another unimpressed note: they name Devon Aoki's character Valerie Chinois Duval. Translates as Valerie "Chinese" Duval. First of all, Devon Aoki is part Japanese. Second of all, you all deserve a hard kick in the nuts. (Although I will admit I love saying the word chinois properly pronounced. It sounds so lovely! I don't know. I'm weird.)

Buried Queens
Chpt. 2

Susan Pevensie has been living alone in London since her siblings died, alone with her grief and determination. She's long since abandoned childish fantasies, but her recent dreams of a great lion give her comfort where nothing else does. And then she is catapulted into Narnia again; but a very, very different Narnia indeed.

I tried plotting out the story, but eventually gave up when I realized it was mutating as I wrote it. So, no final number of chapters.

One more chapter until they meet, ladies and gentlemen.

Theo came around the corner at a dead run, dark eyes burning with power. He came sharply to a halt at Georgie's side; the girl in question was huddled against the wall, eyes too wide, cheeks drained of color.

The blood dripping from my fingers was the only sound aside from harsh breathing for a long moment as Theodore looked her over carefully. "You're all right?" He asked, and when she nodded rapidly he looked up at me.

I nodded as well.

"I see." His breath came out in a harsh sigh and he stood, lifting Georgie into his arms. She was a little too big, but he was stronger than a human boy would be and balanced her with ease. "Thank you for your restraint."

I flicked blood free of my fingers and stepped carefully over the crumpled, bleeding form at my feet. I'd have to wash my boots when I returned to the safehouse, I noted with distaste. "You asked me not to kill anyone," I answered, walking to the mouth of the alley and taking in a deep breath to rid my lungs of the smell of blood and help my face ease back into fully human proportions. "I try to accommodate my hosts."
