Cold and Dark
I just finished watching Cold and Dark. Though it was an odd movie, and not a perfect one, I found its linear storytelling (without the carefully orchestrated patterns of Hollywood) pleasing and, of course, it catered to my very simple tastes on two levels; a hero I could like, and a heroine I could love. With a gushing head wound she still saves his ass! I mean, all though that scene I was going, Bianca, do something! Do something! But I rarely ever actually get obliged. Not to mention on purely shallow levels: Luke Goss and Carly Turnbull and god, how is no one iconing this woman?
And, of course, a potentially happy ending. I firmly mantain that she got better and directed him about the world doing freaky vigilante work. Even if he had trouble with the control thing (and Mort was a creepy bastard from the start, so whatever) she'd keep him in line. The movie was mostly style and creepiness, but come on--he's totally her dangerous, restless guard dog and she's got the leash firmly in hand.
