Silver Hawk, Michelle Yeoh, Luke Goss
Watching Silver Hawk and it is SO MUCH FUN. Seriously. It doesn't take itself at all seriously, and I love that--love the gleefully kickass superheroine so muchOMGMICHELLE YEOH--and yet somehow manages to be almost elegant in its execution and cinematography. Every character so far noticeably has Chinese as a first language except for the lady Lieutenant whom I love already. This distracted me thinking about English accents in French and how the original language affected the next, etc, until I was distracted back to the movie by pretty fight scenes.
The hero was so much cuter as a kid. I assume he's going to shape up; I love her fanboy, he's so cute. This is the first heterosexual couple I've seen where we got to find out both of them can fight in heels. (She still kicks his ass, but it has nothing to do with the heels). Although it's the guy that gets stuck fighting in a skirt, silly fellow.
And Luke Goss, the reason I know about the film, is pretty spiffy keen. For a moment there I was afraid that he was going to be a smug villain, which I really couldn't tolerate even with him, but no--he's just a crazy power-monger one. All is well with the world. Kick his ass, Lulu!
Michelle Yeoh is so awesome.
