You know, I really think Andrew Adamson, while a halfway decent director--both movies were very pretty--is the one of shittiest writers I have ever seen. Listening to him on the commentary makes me want to roll my eyes in disgust. He's, like, Stephenie Meyer calibre.

Oh yeah, a ten second shot of Peter looking at an image of Aslan's face and then glancing at his statue sure makes me think he's longing for power and glory! Uh, no, not unless I'm predisposed to think Peter is a total selfish shit who's into ruling/protecting Narnia for the power trip. Don't worry, you succeed in making him into that throughout the movie, but that early on you want to elaborate.

God. Jackass. I'm still pissed about him shredding the character like that, especially since I really liked Peter in the first movie, and I usually find male characters a bit boring.

Went back through my 'Dark Angel' tags with a vengeance, seeking to prune out OOCness and shoddy writing. (mostly on Lj)

Dark Angel fandom was the first one I entered, and I entered it partway before I even watched the show through a bizarre contortion of events. This means it influenced me. It didn't manage to make me dislike Max, though it tried, but it did manage to skew my perception of Alec somehow. Now that I've grown beyond it--thank god--I can recognize the huge, gaping, ghastly flaws OMG THEY WERE AWFUL. Alec had little to no resemblance to the actual character, the writing was trite and silly, etc.

I left Faith Through Midnight up just for nostalgia, but I cringe every time I glance at it. I may have to pull it off FF.net.
