On the other hand, the other Amanda Quick book I read was one of the more enjoyable regency romances I've read in a while. The prose and dialogue could get a bit trite, but it was solid fun, the characters (heroine especially) were delightful, and it felt like a pleasingly equal relationship. (I'm very fond of sweet little bulldozer heroines cheerfully and thoughtlessly improving the life of their hulking and brooding counterparts.) The plot was quite enjoyable as well. I don't know what is up with that author.
