Transformers movie: you look promising! But remember: I'm watching this for the robots and the girls, and last movie did not please me with its skeevy undertones in the treatment of the latter. Also, Director? I don't care how many pounds you made Megan Fox put on (although seriously, girl must have been a skeleton beforehand) tone down the makeup, please very much and thanks. It looks cheap and stupid and very obvious. Since actresses are sure to be wearing an unbelievable amount of makeup onscreen at all times I doubt the makeup people--probably having both plenty of practice and an obscene paycheck--did it inadvertently or by accident.

Still: ROBOTS. MIKAELA BANES. MAGGIE MADSEN. All the boys in the first movie bored me (but for the alien ones) but that movie was the birth of my awareness of my competence!kink, and oh man those ladies hit it hard. Sam Witwicky, GET OFFSCREEN FOR GOSH SAKES.

On a depressing note, I saw an entry once asking what people in a community thought of the Transformers girls, and one woman whined that she didn't think there should be heroines or female leads with heroes, and I wanted to take a drill bit to her head.
