They're making a Vampire Diaries show.

You know...once upon the time I would have been excited for this. Unfortunately, let's face it: you give an American company/channel/whatthefuckever the rights to turn book into visual media and they fuck it over and defecate on the remains. Also, apparently the same people made Gossip Girl, which is, as far as I can see, about a bunch of extraordinarily nasty, unpleasant people in expensive clothes playing tired soap opera with better sets. Not hopeful.

I mean, Elena was a bit of a bitch, but she was a charming bitch, and when you got down to it she cared about her friends. And she actually had, you know, a personality. I must confess--I mostly read them for Bonnie and Meredith, the tragic triangle and Matt mostly bored me--but I'll still be pissed if they ruin Elena.

Also, I am pretty damn pissed at their little comments to 'Twilight' fans. Not groundbreaking? Bitchcakes, VD was the original. Stephenie Meyer, that truly dishonest person, stole from LJ Smith as surely as she stole from Charlaine Harris.
